FLOG BLOG vol.1
Nice to meet you. My name is Ogo, the director of FLOG.
Thank you for always loving FLOG.
Since there was a page on the site where I could write a blog, I decided to start writing.
My parents keep telling me, "You never last long with anything, it's just the beginning," but I'm looking forward to seeing how many episodes I can serialize 😂
Well, don't push yourself too hard, just start with once a week!
I've never written a blog before, so I don't know where to start, but since I'm here, I'll try to write the story of how I discovered golf.
*I have no education and I am the type who basically just barely passes the grades, so I'm sure it's very difficult to read, but please don't be offended.
I was 27 years old when I first picked up a club.
I ended up going to Hawaii by chance, and the person I went with loves both golf and surfing, and he told me, "Ogo-kun will be making his debut in both in Hawaii, so prepare yourself," so I thought, "Okay, let's give it a try."
I played baseball seriously all the way through high school, so I feel like I was able to hit the ball to a certain extent from the beginning.
We practiced a few times in Japan, then went to Hawaii for the real thing.
I think my score was around 130.
But, the fact that their debut is in Hawaii is just awesome!!
I thought to myself, "Wow there's a sport that feels this good," so I went golfing as soon as I got back to Japan, but it just didn't feel right.
The course is narrow, it's lonely, and it's kind of difficult!
After that, I didn't even touch a club for about a year. (I just got some hand me downs from my seniors.)
One day, a friend who had been to Hawaii invited me to play golf, so I thought I'd go for the first time in a while.
I practiced about 100 balls the night before.
And then, to my surprise, I called 119!!
I was encouraged by the other members at the time and mistakenly thought to myself, "Maybe I have a talent for this," and I became completely captivated.
It's all your own responsibility, and you have to do everything by yourself to improve your score.
At first, the more you practice, the better your score will become.
Given my personality, I think this is the reason why I got hooked on it in the first place.
At that time, no one around me of my generation was doing it yet.
We'll have more friends next time.
Ah, let's debut surfing together in Hawaii!
This one doesn't suit me at all.
One day I'd like to try surfing seriously!
See you next time!
Have fun playing golf!!!
A photo from that time in Hawaii.
This was the only decent photo I had left.
We'll be having a POP UP in Nagoya on November 6th!
